Purple Sky

A while back I was asked to style a photoshoot for Bogart Salon . I love everything about this picture, especially the electric blue gown against the purple sky. It justs makes me smile.

Africa Fashion Week London

I had the honor of being invited to African Fashion week London, which took place at Spitalfields Market. This is the second year of the event and it is exploding. It is only natural for Africans to have a stamp on style since they have inspired such designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and recently the Burberry Prorsum's spring/summer 2012 collection. I had complete backstage access and there was plenty to take in, so make sure to checkout their website at AFWL.  As far as trends go expect vibrant colors, sequins, feathers, tribal prints and lots of glamour.

Men's fashion was definitely in full effect
Sequin galore
A palette of evening gowns
A variety of some of my favs
I loved the simplicity of prints
Sequins, brocade, feathers and tulle, what else can a girl ask for
Ethnic prints in full effect
the hardworking staff making sure the models are runway ready
Backstage at the show, the models couldn't be the only ones having all the fun

                                                                    Have an Afrocentric week!

Kente at the Olympics

For the past week I've been in London for the Olympics. It has been exhilarating and the energy in the city has been electric. I'm here with my dear cousin Mera, who just started a sports blog Scramble for Gold, it is a must read. I was especially excited to see the Cameroonian women's soccer team, even though they didn't make it to the semi-finals, I was so proud of the Lioness and their first Olympic debut.
