Fashions for Gold

Hermes, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Prada and Stella McCartney are making a huge splash in the sports world. No it's not for fashion week, but a worldwide runway, the 2012 Olympics in London. While most athletes across the world are scrambling for a gold metal these designers are giving Olympians the midas touch with their fashion collection.

The Showstoppers of Paris Couture Fall 2012

Paris Fall 2012 couture fashion shows just ended and it was amazing. I always anticipate the end of each show, where designers showcase the showstoppers of all showstoppers. No haute couture show is ever complete without the bride and the wedding gown. *As i gasp just thinking about it.  Here are some of my favorite finale constructions from the Fall 2012 Couture shows.

Just a side note: In France, the term haute couture is protected by law and is defined by the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris based in Paris, France. The chambre syndicale de la haute couture is defined as "the regulating commission that determines which fashion houses are eligible to be true haute couture house". Their rules state that only "those companies mentioned on the list drawn up each year by a commission domiciled at the Ministry for Industry are entitled to avail themselves" of the label haute couture. The Allure of the Maasai

The Maasai are a ethnic group of semi-nomadic people located in Kenya and nothern Tanzania in east Africa. They are famous for their unique customs, noble physique and vibrant dress. Not to mention the most amazing beaded jewelry.  No wonder why many luxury companies have placed them in national ads.

In 2003 the Land Rover Freelander was developed after studying the Maasai tribe.
