Giambattista Valli for Impulse, only at Macy's

Today is the day, the long awaited collaboration of  Giambattista Valli for Impulse only at Macy's hits stores and Internet. The Giambattista Valli capsule is a reflection of the designer's trademark sensibility and creative flourishes that have made him an international sensation.

Giambattista Valli is known for over the top flirty cocktail dresses. Valli didn't hold back any of his aesthetic for this wearable collections. For his collabo with Macy's the designer said "This capsule reflects my enduring loves, but is really a celebration of my biggest inspiration of all- the energy and vitality of women themselves. I love dressing them for all their happiest moments, making them feel as special as possible."

I feel special just looking at each piece. Below are some of my favorite from the 40 piece collection.

Fashionista Wear: Working the Runway With Christopher Straub from Project Runway

Ok, so I'm obsessed with project runway. A while ago I was asked to model a dress for Christopher Straub from Project runway season 6 for a Home and Garden Show. For a Project Runway type challenge Christopher was asked by Home Depot to create a signature Christopher Straub dress using $25 worth of Home Depot Supplies. Here we go!

He used tarp and cut it into flower petals and pieced this one shoulder dress together. Then he made the belt out of utility metals and punched hole and added a belt buckle. The clutch was made out of paper and duct tape to create a tight grip and unique sealing.

It truly was a tough challenge, but look at the final piece. I can't believe it was only $25 dollars. Love it!

Amateur modeling, but had a blast
Close details of dress, sorry can't seem to flip pic

Look at the belt and clutch

XOXO!!!

DW by Kanye West

Kanye West finally launched his women's clothing line, called DW by Kanye West. I have been anticipating this. It debuted during Paris Fashion Week for Spring 2012. I don't want to state my opinion just yet. Everyone knows I always say he is one of the best dressed male out there, but does that mean he can dress women??? You be the Judge.

Here are a couple of looks I found interesting.

Seriously I want to Work Here, Urban Outfitters Campus Tour Part II

I was so blown away by the employees that I meant at the Urban Outfitters tour. Their work attire really complemented the brand. Each employee had their individual sense of style and their environment really motivates their creative process. I call it an effortless cool factor.

Couple of trends to watch out for fall Bow-tie blouse, worn by your one and only, and anything Fuchsia.

Its Just Me (Blouse-Urban, Jeans-F21, Flats-Kelsi Dagger, Jewelry-Nigeria & F21)

I love this entire combo, from the red lipstick to the pointy-toed boots

Fuchsia is big this fall, How cute is the mixture of black and bright

who gets to wear leopard tights to work, they do, how cool. Also loving the jean shirt

Easy going and who knew clogs were back

Great color combo

Keeping it simple, I want those jeans

Every man should own those boots/sneakers

Glad to know that, still living

The end

Urban Outfitters Coporate Campus Part 1

I had the privilege of attending a private tour of the Urban Outfitters corporate campus, located in south Philadelphia  former Navy Yard. This campus isn't merely a collection of isolated loft buildings that happen to have a great industrial-age bones; it is part of  a ready made city, urban in its own way.

Just a brief history, the Navy Yard served as a ship building and repair facility from 1868 through 1996. Decommissioned, it's 187 buildings were abandoned. In 2004, the 1,000-acre National Historic District was mastered planned for redevelopment an evolution from public to private use. When Urban Outfitters, inc., first considered the site, the existing structures were dilapidated. Despite the decay, the soul of the Navy Yard spoke to company's founder, Dick Hayne. He purchased four historic buildings with one that was constructed from 1880 through 1939. Meyer Scherer and Rockcastle transformed four dilapidated historic buildings in the Navy Yard into an adaptive reuse headquarters.

The company's five retail brands-Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN (bridal line) and Terrain (home) design studios and offices are housed within each building. What was so unique is that as you walked in each building of each brand, the buildings were designed to fit each brand. Even the employees mirrored the brands they designed for.
                                                  lobby of main office building
Anthropologie lobby- what a colorful ride, can I get in?
dinning room set in Anthropologie building (despite my assistant Kayla)
Wall of free people building- who thinks to hangup vases on a ceiling- GENIUS!
Free People-this elevator cover is made of quilt, notice the lockers on the side
Sitting area of Free People building- loved loved loved the lamps
Stairway of Urban Outfitters Building- So inspired the rustic materials
Work space at Urban Outfitters building- red couch on brick wall
This chandelier is made out of old bottles- tres chic
                                           Terrain and BHLDN building
Entrance of cafeteria- huge pile of large chain
Pink rope in cafeteria and gym lobby
The Gym- I want to workout there
                                sitting area in the cafeteria

Looking at the workspace of Urban inc., I hope everyone is inspired.
